Idle BWC E15 slip one spot as Edge post 3W press for 1st

in regular season

November 22, 2017

After a bye weekend, BWC E15 – now in fourth place in the CSSHL first year midget division, will finish the month with three games November 24-26, in a Friday-Saturday home and home vs West Van (3-9-2), and a Sunday game at West Hills Arena vs last place Pacific Coast (2-15-1).

BWC will close out the first half with two games in December, vs OHA Okanagan December 2, and then vs Delta at home in a rare 8:00 pm Saturday night game, December 16.

Like BWC, 15-0-0 Northern Alberta were idle on the weekend and in spite of a perfect record, have slipped into second place as the result of Delta’s 4-1 win over Pacific Coast at Westhills Arena in Victoria on Sunday, their only game of the weekend. Delta are now 15-4-1.

Northern Alberta will face Rink (now 6-4-0), in a three game series this coming weekend on Rink’s home ice in Winnipeg, which should be a great series.

Rink lost three straight tough ones in Calgary to Edge this past weekend, 3-2, 3-1 and 4-2, in spite of outshooting Edge in two of the three games, and will be looking for some bounce back at home vs NAX.

To make things interesting, the two teams will meet again in another three game series back at River Cree in Edmonton, December 8-10. Rink will then finish the year with another three game series, vs OHA Okanagan at home, December 15-17.

The three wins moved Edge up one spot into third place, past BWC in the standings. Now at 12-2-0, Edge are second overall in terms of winning percentage at .857.

Edge are idle this coming weekend, and finish December with a four game home and home, over two weekends, with OHA Edmonton, currently in 10th place at 4-12-0.

Yale played just one game last weekend, downing PCHA 6-2 at Westhills on Saturday, to remain in fifth place overall. They’ll finish November with a pair of games vs OHA Okanagan in Penction, Saturday and Sunday.

Delta meanwhile, are idle this weekend and will play just two more games this year, meeting OHA December 3, and BWC as noted above, at BWC December 16.

Should be a great finish to the first half!

E15 Goalies:

Not surprisingly, with just 23 GA and a perfect 15-0-0 record, the two Northern Alberta stoppers, Ty Marcinkowski and Connor Ungar, are at the top of the E15 goaltender leaderboard.

However three other goalies – Dante Giannuzzi (Rink), Braedy Eurby (Delta) and Koen MacInnes (BWC) are right there with them, with save percentages over .930, while two more – Ryan Deighton (Delta 8-2-0) and Mason Dunsford (BWC) are over .925!

Another, Kurt Stadlwieser of the Edge, is a perfect 5-0.

Wow!
