14 ex-BCHL players in NHL Playoffs

The NHL playoffs are now underway and of the 16 clubs taking part, all but one have at least one BCHL alumnus on their roster or hockey staff.

Altogether, there are 14 former BCHLers skating in this year’s postseason and 11 alums among the coaching fraternity and respective hockey operations groups.

There are 14 different BCHL franchises, past and present, with alums in the NHL playoffs. The Penticton franchise is represented by five past members while the Nanaimo Clippers and Coquitlam Express have four.

By first-round playoff series matchup, the complete list of former BCHL players now playing, coaching or in the front office of NHL playoff teams is as follows:

Winnipeg Jets vs. Anaheim Ducks:
Jets captain Andrew Ladd (Coquitlam Express) and goalie coach Wade Flaherty (Nanaimo Clippers)
Ducks defenceman Clayton Stoner (Powell River Kings)

Minnesota Wild vs. St. Louis Blues:
Wild director of player development Brad Bombardir is a former Powell River Kings defenceman
Blues assistant coach Ray Bennett is the father of Nanaimo Clippers defenceman Kale Bennett.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Nashville Predators:
Blackhawks defenceman Duncan Keith (Penticton Panthers)
Predators forward Mike Santorelli (Langley Hornets/Vernon Vipers)

Calgary Flames vs. Vancouver Canucks:
