PJHL Update – Wolfpack move on to Round 2

Kaz Minemoto’s hat trick lead the Wolf Pack to a 5-2 win over visiting Ridge Meadows Flames on Saturday, to move the Pack onto Round 2 of the PJHL playoffs.

The win eliminated the Flames in five games, 4-1.

On Saturday, the Wolf Pack’s Lucas Barker got things started with the only goal in the first period, with the Pack outshooting Ridge Meadows 12-8.

Minemoto converted midway through the second to put the Pack up 2-0, but the Flames Jarod McKay, made it 2-1 with five minutes to go in the period.

Aidan Bar-Lev-Wise made it 3-1 on the power play with 1:30 left to close out scoring in the second.

Shots were 13-12 for North Van in the period.

Ridge Meadows capitalized early in the third with a power play goal from Avery Harriet to close the gap to 3-2.

Minemoto eventually got the insurance goal, with 6:01 to go, on another power play, with assists from Justin Lee and Jacob Fournier.

He finished with an empty netter to complete the scoring.

Shots finished 32-28 for North Van.

Niklas Hoem got the win, while Eric Clark to the loss.

 

Other series:

The Wolf Pack join Grandview Steelers and Langley Trappers in moving to the next round. The Trappers eliminated the Abbotsford Pilots in a 4-3 OT victory Sunday afternoon, to take their series 4-2.

Aldergrove Kodiaks are up 3-2 in their series vs Delta Ice Hawks, and could close out the series with a win Monday night on home ice. Delta staved of elimination with a 4-1 decision Sunday.
