The Delta Hockey Academy, Yale Hockey Academy, Okanagan Hockey Academy, Pursuit of Excellence and Burnaby Winter Club Elite 15 teams travelled to Calgary this weekend to face a full range of Canadian Sports School Hockey League opponents.

Delta started slowly, falling 6-3 to Edge Schools on Friday night, but rebounded with a convincing 6-0 win over Banff on Saturday morning, outshooting them by a whopping 61-7 margin. They faced Compete Hockey Academy from Coeur d’Alene Idaho later in the day and for the second time on Saturday scored 6 goals and earned a win. The final score was 6-2.
Yale continued their offensive outburst from the day before, but at a slower pace, topping Okanagan 5-0 on Saturday morning. Carter Shannon had a hat-trick while Ben Brar scored a goal and added two assists.
Yale faced Burnaby Winter Club on Saturday evening. With Yale leading 4-3, Kevin Wong scored late in the third for BWC to tie it and Kyle Johnson had the winner in the shootout to secure a 5-4 win for BWC.
The Bruins’ other match on Saturday came against Pursuit of Excellence. That game also required overtime, with POE emerging victorious by a score of 4-3.
Heading into Sunday, Edge Schools out of Calgary lead the league standings with the BC academy teams in close pursuit.
