The BC Bantam Tier 1 Playoffs are being hosted by Prince George this year.

The tournament opened today with four games. Each of the six teams will play a five game round robin with the two top teams playing off in a Championship game Thursday night.

The winner will advance to the Western Canada Bantam Championships to face the Provincial winners from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, along with host club Kelowna Rockets.

The top seeds from the Lower Mainland Winter Clubs both won their openers. BWC Bruins downed PG Cougars in a close 2-1 affair, despite outshooting the Cougars 36-24.

North Shore Winterhawks downed Kelowna Rockets 6-1 in a game that saw Hawks D-man Mack Gray go out with a broken collarbone on a questionable hit.

Kamloops downed Cowichan Valley 6-0 in the early afternoon, but the Capitals bounced back in the evening with a 5-0 win over Prince George.

The Winterclubs will both play two games tomorrow, before facing each other Wednesday.
