BCMML Week 11

Week 11 marks the half way point of the BCMML regular season, with all teams having now played 20 games.

Fraser Valley stay on Top

At the turn, the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds are still in the lead, maintaining the four point spread over #2 they held last week. Except, #2 is now Cariboo, who edged past the NE Chiefs who they were tied with last week. The Chiefs put up 3 of 4 points on a OTL and win vs the Thomson Blazers; while Cariboo handled the North West Hawks with two wins, 4-2 and 8-2.

No change 4 through 9 spots

Meanwhile there was no change in the next six slots. The gap between #4 Okanagan Rockets and #6 Greater Vancouver Canadians is just four points. #5 Thompson are a point up on GVC.

The Rockets split their series vs South Island losing game 1, as did GVC vs Kootenay Ice.

The NW Hawks are now 9-9-1-1, three points back of GVC in #7, with the Valley West Giants trailing by three points, at 6-9-3. Valley West were idle, with the bye week.

The South Island Royals, Kootenay Ice and North Island are bringing up the rear, all batting around .250. Kootenay moved out of the basement with their 2 point win over GVC on Sunday.

Other Stats:

#1 Fraser Valley T-Birds had a big weekend offensively, putting up 17 goals vs North Island, to move into top spot in GF, and are the only team with +100 GF at the moment.

The Blazers Logan Stankoven continues to lead the league scoring by a wide margin, posting 26GF-22A-48, in 20 games.

The NW Hawks Tyler Cristall and NE Chiefs Logan Kurki are tied in the #2 slot, with 30 points.

The Cougars still have the fewest goals against, at 48, but the T-Birds are right there, with 49 GA.

The Cougars Xavier Cannon leads the goalie ranks with the lowest GAA at 1.67. The NE Chiefs Logan Terness is next at 1.75, followed by GBC’s Elliot Marshall at 1.79.

The Vancouver NW Hawks continue to win the Lady Byng race with just 219 PIMs. Three teams are vying for #2 – the Rockets have 280; Cariboo 281 and Fraser Valley 283.

League scoring leader Logan Stankoven still has just six PIM, while #8 William Reimer of the Rockets has just two in 20 games..

On the flip side of the coin, #10 Kootenay Ice put up 82 minutes in two games to take over most PIMs, with 549; from the idle #8 VW Giants with 471 PIM. The league average is 353.
