BCMML Week 20 – Cougars move into 1st

in regular season

February 26, 2018

There was only one change in the BCMML standings after Week 20 wrapped up Sunday.

Cariboo Cougars climbed back into first place after two wins in Vancouver over the #6 North West Giants, although it took an OT win in game two to get the sweep.

#2 Valley West meanwhile, split their series vs the #8 NE Chiefs, to fall two points back of the Cougars. The Hawks however, have two games hand, and one less loss, one less tie. So potentially the Hawks could still finish first. They have four games and 8 potential points on the table; the Cougars have two games left, and four points available.

The Cougars have a bye next weekend and close out with two games in Kelowna vs the Okanagan Rockets.

Valley West play South Island at home this coming weekend, and close out with two vs North Island in Nanaimo, March 10-11.

In other games, the #3-#6 teams all split their series.

#3 Fraser Valley are still 13 points back of second place.

#4 Okanagan Rockets gained a point on #5 GVC to lead by three.

#6 NW Giants are two back of GVC, same as last week, and six up on Thompson.

#7 Thompson Blazers put up 3 points to gain one on #8 Chiefs.

#9 Kooteney are still just one back of the Chiefs, and remain two points up #10 NI Silvertips.

#11 South Island did not play this weekend.

Series Recaps – Week 20
