The 51st Annual Burnaby Minor Bantam Christmas tourney opened Friday with 10 games. 8 games were played Saturday.

After the round robin games four Lower Mainland teams posting perfect 3-0 records, BWC, Seafair, Surrey and Burnaby Minor.

BWC defeated Arizona 4-0 in the opener, San Diego 6-0 in game 2, and then Alaska Aces 5-0 on Saturday.

Seafair downed San Diego 6-0, and Arizona 2-0 Friday, and Cowichan Valley 5-2 on Saturday.

Surrey opened with a 3-1 win vs South Delta, a 17-2 thrashing of Squamish on Friday, and a 6-0 shutout vs Ridge Meadows on Saturday.

Burnaby Minor posted a 3-2 win over Ridge Meadows Friday; then a 6-0 win over the Alaska Lions and a  7-1 win over Squamish on Saturday.

So far the Alaska Aces have the best US team record, downing Arizona 7-2 and Cowichan 6-1.

Cowichan is 1-2, losing to BWC and Seafair, defeating San Diego 7-5.

The twelve teams participating include four US teams: Alaska Arctic Lions, Alaska Junior Aces, Arizona Bobcats, and San Diego Gulls. BC teams include Burnaby MHA Bulldogs, BWC Bruins, Cowichan Valley Capitals, Ridge Meadow Rustlers, Seafair Islanders, South Delta Storm, Surrey Thunder and Squamish Eagles.

The Alaska Junior Aces are the top ranked US team participating, currently ranked at #18 in the US, with a record of 7-4-1; Arizona Bobcats are ranked 43  (11-12-4); San Diego Jr. Gulls #51 (20-11-2).

BWC Bruins are ranked #3 in Western Canada (31-3-3), Cowichan Valley (25-5-0) are ranked #18 (and #7 in BC), Seafair (32-12-1) is ranked is #22 (and #9) in BC.

Round robin games played over first two days, quarter and semis on Dec 3o, and all medal games Dec 31, with bronze medal game at 9:00 am, Gold/Silver at noon.

All games at Bill Copeland Sports Centre (3676 Kensington Ave, Burnaby). Admission is free.
