BWC Atom A1
The BWC Atom A1s clinched the GVC Tier 1 league banner Feb 9, with a record of 18-1-1, and 19 sportsmanship points, just four shy of a perfect record.
But they’ve got company this year at the top of the totem pole.
Although Seafair Islanders finished second with 51 points, the Islanders did not lose a game all year, and also handed the Bruins their only loss, 2-1 on January 31, and their only tie, 1-1 on December 11.
Only Seafair’s lack of sportsmanship points kept them tying the Bruins in W-L-T points for the regular season, though the Bruins one extra win would have secured the banner regardless.
So as the playoffs get underway Feb 21, both teams will be eager to meet again in a battle for the Playoff banner.
Rounding out the top four at the end of regular season play, are the Van T-Birds (10-7-3), and the BWC A2s (9-5-6).
The club faces 8th seed Burnaby Minor (3-13-4) in the second round, which got underway Feb 21 and will wrap up Feb 25.
Seafair plays 7th seed Richmond (4-10-6) in their first Playoff round.
