This year’s BWC E15 Academy team is leading the seven team contingent of BC clubs competing in the CSSHL E15 division, as the league enters its final weekend prior to playoffs.
BWC, who finished four points back of Delta in second place overall last year, are two points up on Delta this year. But this year, both teams trail two Alberta clubs.
BWC are five back of Calgary based Edge School, and 15 back of undefeated Northern Alberta Xtreme, who have posted a perfect 32-0-0 record to date.
However, both BWC and Delta have given Northern Alberta a tough time.
BWC pushed NAX to the brink in their last match-up; losing 6-5 in OT at the Westhills Arena in Victoria, January 14.
Delta have also pressed NAX hard, losing three one goal decisions through the regular season.
BWC and Delta will play both NAX and Edge – along with OHA Edmonton and Rink – in Calgary this coming weekend to wrap up the regular season.
Delta will face Northern Alberta in their third game of the Showcase, on Saturday, March 3, and then wrap their season vs Edge on Sunday morning.
BWC will face Edge in their first Showcase game, on Friday, March 2, then play OHA Edmonton and Rink, before finishing up with a final game vs NAX on Sunday, March 4, at 8:00 AM.
BWC and Delta are 2-2 in their head to head matchups this season.
Delta won the teams’ final regular season match-up 4-1 this past Saturday, February 24, at BWC. In December it was BWC with a 1-0 win. In the other two contests, BWC lost 2-0 October 28, and then bounced back with a 7-3 win October 29; making it 9 GF – 9 GA for each team, over the four games.
So should be a very interesting final weekend for both BWC and Delta, as they head east to Calgary, and look forward to the playoffs.
