The BWC Hockey Academy U-18 team had a good weekend winning two out of three games.
The team opened the weekend against the Okanagan Hockey Academy, a game which they lost in a heartbreaking shootout by a score of 4-3.
OHA opened the game with three unanswered goals, including two from Jack Barnes before Ben Poisson scored with 3:44 left in the second period. BWC would add two more goals from Brady Lynn and Angus Crookshank to send the game in to overtime. After overtime solved nothing, the teams headed to a shootout. Keltie Jeri-Leon scored on the first OHA shot of the shootout to secure the W.
On Saturday BWC went up against Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy Prep and defeated them 7-0. Easily the highlight of the game, weekend and perhaps the CSSHL season was a goal by Nathan Pelletier. The goal (seen below), has garnered national attention from media outlets including TSN for just how ridiculous it is.

Sunday saw BWC play another OHA team and it would be a completely different result as BWC won 8-1. Ethan de Jong led the way with two goals in the victory.
Here’s how the standings look so far:
