Here’s an update on how the four Burnaby Winter Club peewee rep teams have started the new season. Early results include exhibition games, tournament play and PCAHA placement games. The group won provincial gold in A1 and A3 last year, and silver in A2.
BWC Peewee A1, 9W-1L-1T
Head Coach: Bill Hunt
Traditionally at or near the top of Tier 1 teams in BC, this year’s team is again looking very strong.
The team dominated the Tier 1 division at the annual Seafair Icebreaker last weekend, downing Cloverdale 7-0 in the final, while posting a 4-0-0, 29 GF- 3 GA record, including a 4-2 win over Seafair on Monday, October 12.
Seafair bounced back with a 2-0 win the next day in placement, to hand the Bruins their only loss so far this season.
Last year the team finished first in PCAHA regular season play with a 19W-1L-0T record, 3 points ahead of 2nd place Seafair and 11 points ahead of third place NSWC; and went on to win the BC Provincial banner.
