The BWC Bantam Varsity team picked up three wins this past weekend, bringing their record to 11-2-0 this season. Their 22 points put them in second place, four back of West Van, who are undefeated in 13 games so far.
It was a big weekend offensively for BWC at Showcase in Penticton. They started with a 9-1 win over Edge (3-8-1) at 8:00 AM Saturday morning. Nine BWC players had multi-point games, led by Tyler Chan and Tyler Tse, who each registered a goal and two assists.
They followed that up with a 12-0 win against IHA (3-13-0) at 5:00 PM, in which they recorded 75 shots on goal. Chan (2G-1A) once again had three points, though it was Dylan Emerson (1G-4A) who had a five-point effort to lead all BWC skaters. It was his second five-point game this season.
Sunday’s 10:30 AM game against Okanagan (5-5-1) was closer, though BWC still held a big edge in shots 50-24. The score was tied 2-2 heading into the final period, but BWC fired 21 shots on net in the final period, scoring four times en route to a 6-3 win.
Chan (2G-2A) had four points – for a total of 10 on the weekend – while Jagjeevan Phangura (2G-1A) and Luca Primerano (0G-3A) both had three points.
BWC scored a combined 27 goals in the three games, giving them a division-best 98 goals for this season. They’ve also allowed the fewest goals (24) thus their +74 goal differential is also best in the division.
