CSSHL Update – BWC Bantam Prep (21-6-2)

BWC’s Bantam Preps won some big games last week, putting them in position to take over second in the division with one game left in the season.

Game 1 – February 22 vs Delta Green (23-3-3)

Facing the top team in the division, BWC came up big in this 4-3 shootout win.

The game was a tug-of-war match, start to finish.

BWC’s Brandon Lisowsky, assisted by Adam Lore, opened the scoring less than five minutes into in the first period but Delta’s Mathew Ward responded just past the halfway mark.

Lore and Liswoskey combined again to put BWC back on top with 1:53 left in the first.

Midway through the second, Delta’s Brayden Bohm knotted things up at 2-2, on the power play, setting the stage for a high-stakes third period.

Mirko Buttazzoni put BWC back up just 21 seconds into the third period and it looked as though BWC would hang on to the lead, but a Delta goal in the final 30 seconds sent this game to overtime, then a shootout.

Merick Eriksson stopped all three Delta shooters in the shootout and Lisowsky, the second BWC shooter, scored the golden goal deliver BWC the big win.

Game 2 – February 24 vs Delta White (9-18-2)

Riding the high of beating Green, Delta’s White team never stood a chance in this game two days later.

BWC scored four times in the first and three more times in the second period.

Despite the fact penalties favoured the other team 7-0, BWC dominated play all game, with Delta not scoring until 14 seconds were left in the game, to close it out 8-1.

Alyandro De Leon scored twice while Tyson Dyck had four points. Kyle Kelsey made 26 saves in goal for BWC.
