CSSHL – BWC Bantam Prep – 50 shot win over top-seed St. George’s

in regular season

October 31, 2018

Team Report:

Burnaby Winter Club’s Bantam Prep squad only had one game last weekend, but it was a key match-up as they took on St. George’s – the top seed last week with an 8-1-0 record.

St. George’s (now 9-3-0) opened the scoring on the power play early in the first period, but it was all BWC the rest of the way. Mats Lindgren tied things up 70 seconds after the opening goal, and he then assisted on the eventual game-winner by Jaeger Murdock less than four minutes later.

BWC would add three more goals courtesy of Tyson Dyck, Alex Sandhu, and Murdock again en route to the 5-1 victory. They peppered St. George’s with a total of 50 shots in the game, while goalie Merik Erickson stopped 25 of 26 shots to record the win. Brandon Lisowsky led the team with three points (all assists) in the game.

BWC remains fourth in the division, with a four point cushion on Yale (6-2-0). They are just two points back of second and four points behind West Van (10-2-0) for first in the division. Yale is a team to watch out for, as they have at least three games in hand on the four teams above them and have won six games in a row after losing their first two.
