BWC’s Bantam Varsity squad played just one game this past weekend, winning a tight 5-4 shootout victory against St. George’s (6-8-1).
BWC outshot St. George’s 30-17 in the game and appeared to have the game in hand, up 4-1 after two periods, but a three-goal third period from St. George’s sent the game to extra time.
BWC’s David Adaszynski eventually wrapped things up, scoring the first and only shootout goal to secure the win for BWC.
Adaszynski also had a shorthanded goal and an assist in regulation time. He’s been incredibly consistent, having scored a point in all but two games this season.
Other BWC goal scorers were Kai Adano, Tyler Chan, and Maxwell Chakrabarti.
The team improved to 12-2-0 with the win, bringing them to 24 points on the year. That keeps them within four points of a perfect West Van (14-0-0), while stretching their lead above third place Yale, to four points.
Yale (10-4-0) has taken over third from Delta (8-6-3) after a pivotal 3-2 win on Saturday. Delta has lost four in a row, while Yale has won four straight.
Edge (3-8-1) continues to tumble – they started their season 3-0-0 but have gone 0-8-1 since then.
BWC still has the best goal differential in the division, +75 with a division-high 103 goals scored, and only 28 against.
