CSSHL Update – BWC Elite 15 (24-3-5)

Burnaby Winter Club’s Elite 15’s picked up three of a possible four points last weekend to improve to 24-3-5 on the season.

Game 1 – February 9 vs Pursuit (6-25-3)

BWC got back in the win column with a 7-1 win against Pursuit.

They scored on their each of their first three powerplays to go up 3-0 in the first and continued to add throughout the game.

Chase Sandhu had a hat-trick and Jaden Uy added a pair of goals. Adam Grenier and Matthew Carniel scored the other BWC goals. Michael Abgrall had four assists.

Tanner Johnson got the call in goal for BWC and made 15 saves for the win.

Game 2 – February 10 vs Delta (23-6-4)

Sunday’s game was a tight contest between the two top E-15 teams.

BWC only had four shots on goal in the first period but managed to lead 1-0 after 20 minutes.

That lead held up until 4:22 left in the middle frame when Delta’s Kai Daniells tied the game at one.

A power play goal 48 seconds into the third period gave Delta the lead, but Uy scored to tie the game with under five minutes remaining.

Overtime solved nothing, this game went to a shootout.

Daniells was the only one to score in the contest, securing the 3-2 SO win for Delta.

Mason Dunsford made 33 saves for BWC, who were outshot 35-25 in the game.

BWC got a point out of the contest to keep them three points ahead of Delta; BWC also has a game in hand.

Around the league

With four games remaining in the regular season, BWC looks like a good bet to lock down 1st in the division.

BWC needs 57 points to clinch first, a total they are just four shy of right now.
