The BWC Midget Prep team continued their season with a trio of games in Calgary last weekend.
They kicked things off with an 8-0 win over Banff (0-9) on Friday.
Mattias Hohlweg led the way with two goals and an assist, and goaltender Koen MacInnes made 17 saves for his second shutout of the season.
Saturday’s tilt was a premier match-up, with BWC taking on Calgary-based Edge (7-1-1).
BWC got on the board first thanks to a power play goal by Jason Lin, but Edge responded with two goals in the middle period and held on to win 2-1, and move into second place in the division, two points back of league leading Shawnigan.
BWC had the advantage in shots 32-19 in the game, but weren’t able to solve Edge goaltending. Edge goalies have allowed just 12 goals in the first nine games.
In their third game of the weekend on Sunday, BWC bounced back from the tough loss with a 7-2 win against IHA (2-7-1). The scoring was spread throughout the lineup in this game; 14 of 17 BWC players recorded at least one point in the game.
BWC currently sits in fifth place in the Midget Prep Division, only one point behind third place Delta, and with games in hand on the top two teams.
BWC also have the second-best goal differential (+28) in their division. Only Edge, with one more, is better.
BWC, OHA Edmonton, and Delta have scored the most goals so far, with 47 in eight games.

Looking ahead…
BWC Midget Prep have the chance to move up the standings next weekend when they play a pair of games at home.
The first is on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7:45 pm against long time rival Delta (6-2-0), and the latter an early 9:30 AM start on Sunday against West Van (3-4-1).
Both games to be played at Burnaby Winter Club.
