November 6, 2018

BWC has jumped up to 2nd place in the Midget Prep division after a pair of wins last weekend.

Burnaby first took down Okanagan White (2-11-1) on Saturday by a 7-2 score, mustering 56 shots on goal. Jacob Paler-Chow had a three-point game while Daniel Juca had two goals. Brett Pfoh scored the game-winner late in the 1st period.

Against Okanagan Red (6-5-2) the next day, BWC won 4-1, with four different goal scorers. Deepkaran Hans, Kaidan Johnson, and Finlay Williams all scored in the first period, while Juca scored his third goal of the weekend on a third period power play.

The two wins, coupled with losses from Northern Alberta (10-3-2) and Edge (9-1-2), allowed BWC to leap up from fifth to second in the Midget Prep Division with 22 points through 15 games. They have the most goals for in the division with 77 scored, while also boasting the second-best goal differential (+37).

It’s a tight race at the top of the standings. Though Shawnigan (13-1-1) has a five-point cushion at the top, several teams are grouped closely together.

Just three points separate second-place from sixth, and Rink (8-3-1) is right there too with 17 points in only 12 games.
