Here’s a quick overview of the CSSHL Midget Prep standings, Top 20 Scoring Leaders and Top 10 Goaltenders, to November 20 (Week 10 and bit).
Shawnigan Lake continues their terrific run, with two more dominant games, to increase their winning streak to 10 games. Over 18 games, the team has lost just one game in regular time, plus one other in overtime.
This weekend Shawnigan started with a 7-1 win over #10 West Van at Hollyburn on Saturday and then shutout #8 Yale 8-0 on Sunday at the Summit Centre.
Calgary-based Edge are on a similar pace, with just one regular season loss, along with two in OT, and now sit in second place overall, five points back of Shawnigan, but with two games in hand.
Edge won both games in a big home and home series with OHA Edmonton on the weekend. They started with a 3-1 road win Saturday, and then won 4-3 in OT at home on Sunday, to move up into the #4 spot, one back of OHA Edmonton.
Edge then also played Tuesday, November 20, downing cross-town #11 IHA, 5-0, to move to 13-1-2, and move one point up on OHA Edmonton and into a tie with BWC at 28 points a piece, five back of Shawnigan. However, since Edge has done it in two fewer games than BWC, they’re #2.
Nevertheless, BWC moved up one spot on the weekend from a week ago, as they continue their strong play. BWC stretched their winning streak to six games, on a couple of blow-outs on the Island vs #13 Shawnigan Lake; 12-3 and 11-5.
Incredibly Shawnigan Lake boasts the three top scorers in the league (see Scoring Leaders below).
The two high scoring games pushed BWC even further ahead in the overall league scoring race. They’re now at 105GF-48GA. Shawnigan is next with 92GF-35GA. Both teams are posting a goal differential of 57 over 18 games.
Rounding out the Top 5 are Northern Alberta, who were idle this week. They’re now just one point back of OHA Edmonton, at 12-3-2, 26 points.

Top 20 Scoring Leaders
- Sean Ramsay PCHA
- Kyle Brown PCHA
- Gabe Schovanek PCHA
It’s back to the three PCHA stars at the top of the Midget Prep scoring charts this week, as Gabe Schovanek moves back into the top three, joining fellow 2001 team mates Sean Ramsay (#1) and Kyle Brown (#2).
All three put up big points in the two games vs BWC, scoring all the goals for PCHA in both games, which BWC completely dominated, winning 12-3 in game 1 and 11-5 in game 2.
Schovanek put up 2G-1A in game 1 and 0G-4A in game two, for seven points to edge ahead of 2004 born Matthew Savoie of Northern Alberta, and back into the #3 spot.

Ramsay scored eight points over the period on 2G-6A, while Brown was 4G-3A.
Ramsay is also leading the Top 20 in PIMs, with 47.
Of note in the series vs BWC were the shots: 43-23 in game 1, and 76-18 in game 2. Maximillan Prazma stopped 65 in game 2.
Shawnigan’s Joseph Tanaka-Campbell remains in 5th place, with 1G-1A over two games.
