Although it’s very early in the regular season – most teams had played just two games at the start of the weekend, patterns are starting to emerge at the top level of bantam AAA hockey in BC.

At the beginning of the weekend,  there were three teams tied for first place with 6 points.

Seafair and Coquitlam were there based on two wins and the extra sporties. Hollyburn was there with a 2-1-0 record and three sporties. Their lone loss, 3-2 to Seafair.

At end of the weekend Seafair and Coquitlam stood alone on top with 9 points. Coquitlam downing Abby 5-1; and Seafair defeating top ranked NSWC 2-1. On Monday night, Seafair continued their winning ways, downing Richmond 6-0 to move into sole possession of first place with 12 points.

Hollyburn also stayed in the game, with a 2-2 tie vs Langley on the weekend, to move to 8 points.

BWC started the weekend one back of the first three teams, at 2-0-0 with 5 points. The Bruins had posted a 4-0 decision over Richmond and a narrow 1-0 win over TBirds in their opening two games.

They played Surrey on Saturday night, notching a 9-1 win, and now share third place with Holyburn at 8 points.

NSWC didn’t look 100% on Friday, clearly not fully recovered from their wild weekend in Medicine Hat last weekend, where they forfeited the semi due a virus that downed 9 players. They had downed Seafair 7-0 in September, before teams were fully formed. NSWC started strong Friday but weren’t sharp on scoring chances and Seafair eventually turned the tide and won 2-1.

NSWC then played Semiahmoo on Sunday and came away with an 8-0 win. They’d played Abby Nov 11, winning 7-0, and are currently one point behind Hollyburn and BWC, with 7.

Four teams started the weekend without wins, and unfortunately for them, continued to lose. Semi is now 0-4-0, Abby 0-3-0, Richmond 0-3-0. TBirds, who didn’t play on the weekend, are 0-2-0.

Langley played their first game, a tie with Hollyburn. Surrey is 1-1-0.
