The Philadelphia Flyers have announced the signing of Kelowna Rockets forward Tyrell Goulbourne to a three-year entry-level contract, according to Flyers GM Ron Hextall.
Goulbourne, 21, was a third-round selection of the Flyers (72nd overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Currently in his fifth full season with the Rockets, Goulbourne is having his best season offensively with Kelowna, having recorded 17 goals and 21 assists for 38 points in 55 games this season.
In 268 career games with Kelowna, Goulbourne has recorded 55 goals and 63 assists for 118 points along with 454 PIM.
Goulbourne joined the Rockets in 2009 after being drafted in the fifth round of the WHL Bantam draft. A native of Edmonton AB, Goulbourne is known for his physical play on the ice and has become one of the most popular Rockets for his energetic style of play.
Goulbourne and the Rockets are in Everett Tuesday to take on the Silvertips.
