CALGARY – Four BC forwards have been named to Team Canada’s U18 roster today for the upcoming Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup.
The roster features the return of Coquitlam’s Mathew Barzal (Seattle), who won bronze for Canada as an under-ager at the IIHF Ice Hockey U-18 World Championship earlier this year, along with newcomers Jansen Harkins of North Vancouver (Prince George), Adam Musil of Delta (Red Deer), and Tyler Soy of Surrey (Victoria Royals).
Barzal and Musil are BWC alumni, Harkins is a NSWC alumni, Soy finished his minor hockey career at OHA.
“I am excited about the roster we have named today,” said head coach Jody Hull (Peterborough) in a statement. “This was an intense, high-tempo camp, and there were some tough decisions to get down to the final 22 players. As a coaching staff, we’re confident we’ve selected the best team to travel to Europe and continue Canada’s great tradition at this event.”
