February 26, 2013 – After opening the OMAHA playoffs with a 2-1 series win over Vernon, Kamloops T1 moved on to face the Kelowna Fripp Warehousing Jr. Rockets in the second round.
Game one of the best of three series went in favor of the home team, with the Kelowna winning 3-1.
Kelowna forward Erick Noh opened the scoring in the first period, finishing off a pass from Tanner Campbell. Kamloops then leveled the score with a shorthanded marker in the second period. The deadlock was broken on a 5-3 power play, as Ryan Lawson put the Jr. Rockets back in the lead. Noh later scored his second of the game as Kelowna held on for the win.
In the second game, Kamloops pulled ahead 2-1 in the third period before Brandon Barnes scored to even the score. With under ten minutes to play, it was Adam Beatty who played the role of hero, tipping in a shot a point shot to put Kelowna ahead 3-2. It was a lead they would not surrender, as Kelowna held on to win the OMAHA playoffs. They now advance to the Provincials, being played in Abbotsford later this month.
