January 24/13 – The Midget T3 squad wrapped up a league title earlier this month after putting together a 9W-2L-2T record in OMAHA league play.
“The effort has been there, we started off very strong, had a bit of a lull in December, but we’re playing our best hockey of the year right now,” said Coach Marc Casler.
In actuality, the team has been playing well for much longer than that, with the core of the team having played together as Bantams last year.
“We have a very close team. They bond together, spend time together and are a good group of friends,” said Casler. “I think if you have a close team, you can do bigger things.”
Those bigger things include aspirations of a provincial title, but the team will have pull together to overcome some broken bones and concussions that are keeping key players out of the lineup.
“We have a bye into the provincials, so that might give us time to get some of those players back,” said Casler. “We’re feeling confident as a team.”
