The Langley Atom A4 Eagles continued their impressive run of tournament wins this season, capturing their third championship of the season in the Abbotsford Atom Rep tournament this past weekend.

The Eagles started the weekend slowly, losing 5-0 to Abbotsford A3 and then bouncing back with a gritty 6-5 win over the Portland Jr. A Hawks on Friday.

The Eagles played twice again on Saturday, beating Aldergrove A1 7-2, and finishing round-robin play with a 6-1 win over the Cowichan Capitals.

Langley A4 finished second in round-robin play and faced Portland in the semi finals, skating away with a very hard-fought 7-5 win on Sunday morning. With only a short break before the finals, the Eagles knew they’d be in tough against the undefeated host Abbotsford A3 Hawks.

The final game didn’t disappoint.  It was fast and physical, but the Langley A4 Eagles played a strong all-around game and defeated the host team 4-0 to be crowned Tier 3 champions.  The coaching staff and players can ring in 2014 on a high note after their victory today.
