North Van Bantam A3 – Flight 6
The North Van Bantam A3 Storm have played .500 hockey in their last five games, downing Ridge Meadows and Langley, losing to Richmond and Po Co and tying Mission. All eight regular games the team has played so far have been close contests, the widest margin just 3 goals in the 4-1 loss to PoCo.
And while it may not seem like a stellar record, the team is in second place, with 15 points, tied with Po Co and Richmond.
The whole division though, is very tight this year. Except for Cloverdale A3 in first with an 8-0-0 record (22 pts), and Abby A4s at the bottom with a 0-7-0 record, the other seven teams are within 3 points of each other.
So the Storm will have to have their A game with them over the next three games leading up to the Christmas Break if they want to stay near the top.
They’ve got a game against struggling Abby, and then two tough ones. First, a rematch against Mission (3-3 last time), and then, to end 2013 on high note, a contest against undefeated Cloverdale on December 20.
Two wins will keep them in the race, three wins will separate them from the pack, and put the Storm in a position to keep edge closer to the top in January.
