Midget Storm A1 – team to beat in Flight 1
The Storm A1 have proven to be the team to beat in the midget division, as they are holding down a three point lead atop Flight 1.
After suffering their first and only loss last week, the team bounced back with a 3-3 tie against Seafair (4-2-2). That game marked the only time this season the Storm A1 have allowed more than two goals.
The most recent game was against last-placed Langley (1-6-1), and the Storm A1 took advantage and picked up their fourth shutout of the season in a 3-0 win.
The Storm A1 are tied for fourth in goals for, but the real story has been on the defensive side of things. The team has allowed just ten goals in nine games. Their G.A.G (goals against per game) is 1.11, miles ahead of the second-best team (Richmond – 2.00).
The Storm A1 are firing on all cylinders and if this play continues it’s a safe bet that the team will remain among the best midget teams.
The Storm A1 are in action on both days this weekend, taking on NSWC (3-4-1) on Saturday before meeting Ridge Meadows (3-5-0) on Sunday.
