Bantam A1
The A1 team extended their impressive regular season winning streak to 8 games, beating Coquitlam 4-2 on December 6th.
The win set up the game of the week, as NSWC went head to head with the only other unbeaten team in Flight 1: their longtime rivals Burnaby Winter Club. After a hard fought game, both clubs managed to keep their undefeated records intact. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
NSWC now sits well ahead of everyone in the standings with an 8W-0L-1T record, but BWC (4W-0L-1T) will use their four games in hand trying to catch up.
Bantam A2
The A2 boys had a busy week, playing a total of three games.
The first, a December 5th tilt in Ridge Meadows, provided the best result: a 3-1 win. The next two games were lopsided affairs, with the Winterhawks conceding six goals against South Delta (6-3 final) and four more the next night against Burnaby Winter Club (4-0 final).
They will have a chance to get back to 0.500 on Saturday, December 15th, when they travel to Mission.
Bantam A3
The A3 team has been following a trend throughout Flight 4 regular season play. After coming out of the gates with a four game losing streak, the latest pattern of a win followed by a loss was established.
They continued that trend this week, posting a 5-1 loss against Vancouver TBirds A2 on December 4th, but following it up with a 6-3 win over Sno-Kings Bantam A1 on December 8th.
The Winterhawks will look to break the win-loss-win-loss cycle with a second straight win when they take on the last place Cloverdale Bantam A2 on Wednesday.
