NSWC Peewee Hawks win San Diego tourney

The NSWC PWA4 team travelled to San Diego last weekend to take part in the California State Winter Games tournament and came back with the banner and gold medals.

The team posted a 4-0 record, allowing just one goal against.

Coaches Paul Pipke and Nikita Kozak praised the boys for a total team effort, as every player on the team made it onto the score sheet.

“This fantastic experience allowed the boys to bond both on and off the ice, while achieving all of their goals. We are looking forward to carrying this confidence and teamwork into the Final 4.”

The team finished first in Flight 7 in the regular season with a record of 9-3-8 and were seeded third in Tier 4 at the start of PCAHA playoffs. The Hawks downed Abby in two tight games (3-2 and 6-5) to advance to the Final 4.

They’ll playoff in the Final 4 against Langley A4 (12th F5), Seafair A4 (8th F6), and Ridge Meadows A4 (5th F7), starting March 1.
