The round robin of the third annual CanAm Bantam A1 series hosted by BWC and NSWC wrapped up Saturday night, with OHA downing the Anaheim Jr. Ducks 5-3, in a preview of the #1 ranked teams playoff game Sudany morning.
NSWC came from behind to tie the Colorado Thunderbirds 4-4 i their final, which also turned out to be a preview of the #2 rankedteams.
Pursuit of Excellence had earlier downed the Dallas Stars 2-1 to finish tied with the Winterhawks at 2-1-1, but with the #3 rank based on the goals for tie-breaker.
Co-host BWC dropped their final decision 5-3 to the LA Kings. The win placed the Kings in 3rd spot so they’ll play PoE in the #3 playoff game.
BWC will meet Dallas in the final playoff game.
Many of the Canadian teams are still in the process of team formation, which makes direct comparison of teams a bit tricky. For example, NSWC will release 4 F and 2 D after the final game Sunday. Nevertheless the US teams have proven they can compete with the top Canadian teams.
Sundays finals will be watched with interest by observers from all sides and the results will no doubt be debated all season long.
