Four peewee teams open with 2-0 at Pat Quinn

Here’s a quick look at the early standings in the Peewee AAA bracket at the 5th Annual Pat Quinn Classic, being played in Burnaby over the holidays.

The tournament opened yesterday and will wrap up on New Year’s Eve.

In a classic matchup of long time rivals, BWC A1 opened with a 4-3 win over North Shore Winter Club in their first game Saturday. NSWC lead 2-1 after the first, after opening with two goals in the first 1:21. BWC got one back later in the first, then tied it up 2-2 late in the second. In the third, both teams exchanged goals to make it 4-4 at the halfway mark, before BWC’s Jakob Oreskovic delivered the win, at the 13:41 mark.

BWC then downed the Nanaimo Clippers 7-0 in their second game Saturday. They’ll wrap the round robin Sunday afternoon.

Cloverdale Colts, Kelowna Jr. Rockets and Glenlake Hawks are also all 2-0 to start.

The Colts opened with a 6-2 win over Nanaimo Clippers and an 11-1 win over Arizona Bobcats U12 Elite.

Kelowna Jr. Rockets edged BWC A2, 3-2 in the morning and then defeated Richmond Jets 8-1 in the evening.

Glenlake Hawks (Calgary) defeated Langley A1, 5-2 and Semiahmoo 2-1 in their first two games.
