
Here’s an early look at how things are starting off in the top two Midget divisions in the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association (PCAHA).
Flight 1
In Flight 1, consisting of 12 A1 teams, two teams have set the pace so far, Seafair and Coquitlam, with 2-0-1 records. The teams they tied – each other – 5-5, in game 1.
Three teams are right behind them also undefeated, but with only two games under their belts – North Vancouver, Hollyburn and Richmond, all 2-0-0.
Ridge Meadows, Semiahmoo, Vancouver Thunderbirds are all 1-2-0.
Two teams have played three games without a win, North Shore Winter Club A1 (Midget Elite) and Abbotsford are both 0-2-1.
Langley is 0-2-1 and Surrey 0-1-0.
Coquitlam (16.3), Abbotsford (14.7), and Vancouver T-Birds (13.3) are winning the average PIM/game contest, with Semiahmoo (13) in hot pursuit. On the other end of the scale, Seafair and Surrey, averaging 4 minutes a game.

Flight 2

The Seattle Sno-Kings, a team consisting primarily of 15 year olds, has jumped out to the early lead in Flight 2, with three straight wins, and is averaging over 6 goals per game so far.
The team went eight straight in the Group 4 placement round, playing mostly against A2 teams.
The Sno-Kings started off with a 7-3 win against NSWC A2 in game 1, and have since posted two shutouts, 5-0 vs Chilliwack, and 7-0 vs New West.
Two other teams are tied with the Sno-Kings with 9 points, South Delta, who are 2-0-2, and NSWC A2s who are 2-2-1.
North Shore A2 and South Delta battled to a 2-2 Friday night, with the Storm showing a lot of grit, in game where the Winterhawks held a 34-11 shots on goal advantage.
North Shore are the only A2 team in the 11 team flight.
Aldergrove could be a team to watch, at 2-0-0. They downed NSWC 3-2 and New West 5-1. New West managed a tie vs South Delta, but were blown out 7-0 by the Sno-Kings had have just 3 GF vs 14 GA.
The Burnaby Winter Club A1s are the other team in the top group in the early going, with a 2-1-0 record, in three tight games. The Bruins edged Po Co 2-0 in their opener, Port Moody 2-1 in game 2 and lost 2-0 to NSWC in game three.
Port Moody 1-1-2 and Mission 1-1-1 are in sixth and seventh place.
New West, Chilliwack Po Co and Burnaby are all 0-2-1.
In the bad boy contest, Port Moody and Burnaby are in front, averaging over 20 minutes a game. First place Sno-Kings have the fewest, at 6.67.
