Friday night was a big night in Round 2 of the PCAHA Midget Tier 1 playoffs, with three series in action – the result: one team eliminated, one team avoided elimination, and two teams maintained the status quo.
As anticipated, #1 seed Seafair eliminated #8 BWC winning 6-1 Friday, after opening with a 6-0 win on Thursday.
#2 seed North Vancouver risked being eliminated by #7 Abbotsford Hawks, after tying the opener 2-2 on February 13 and then losing game two 1-0 on Monday. The Storm survived, with a 5-1 win and will travel back to Abbotsford for the deciding game, Monday, February 23.
#4 Cloverdale played #5 Hollyburn in game two of their series; which resulted in a second 2-2 draw. Game three will be played Sunday night in Cloverdale.
#3 Langley Eagles can move on vs #6 Semiahmoo Ravens with a win on Monday. The teams tied 3-3 in their opener February 11, at Langley Twin Rinks, and then Langley won game two 3-1 on February 17.
The Final 4 will be hosted by North Vancouver, starting February 27.
