PCAHA MIDGET RANKINGS – MID-SEASON

With most of the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Assocation midget teams having played ten regular season league games, clear patterns have been established in all five Flights, at the mid-way point of the regular season.

Hockey Hub has looked at the league standings so far and regrouped the teams relative to each other based solely upon regular season league play.

In the table below, the first column shows the Hockey Hub rankings, while the second shows adjusted PCAHA rankings, after sportsmanship points are removed and game winning percentage is factored in.

The third column shows the current league standings according to PCAHA protocols, with Flight and place indicated.

The first major re-adjustment in the HH rankings is the movement of Hollyburn from top of Flight 2 (F2-1) and 14th overall in PCAHA rankings, to HH’s 8th place spot, one spot ahead of Langley MA1.

The top Tier 2 teams are North Delta (10th, F2-2), Aldergrove (11th, F1-9) and New West (12th, F2-3).

Whistler leads the Tier 3 teams, in 30th spot overall. They are currently in third place in Flight 3.

Hockey Hub will revisit these rankings after the Christmas break tournaments and factor in relative strengths of some of the other top teams from around BC.

To briefly recap the current Flights.

In Flight 1, Seafair, North Van, Ridge Meadows and Richmond are in a dog fight for first place, with five more – Surrey, NSWC, Cloverdale, Langley and Tier 2 Aldergrove in a tight battle for the next four spots. Seafair is the only team with no losses in the top four flights.

In Flight 2, Hollyburn leads the group with an impressive .864 winning percentage, followed by two Tier 2 teams, North Delta and New West.

In Flight 3, North Van MA2 and Semi MA2 are at the top, with Seattle MA1, Whistler MA1 Tier 3 and Ridge Meadows MA2 in hot pursuit.

In Flight 4, Ridge Meadows MA3 are 9-1-1 and Coquitlam MA3 are 7-1-1.

In Flight 5, Surrey MA3 are undefeated at 10-0-1 and North Van MA3 are 10-1-0.
