With a just a few games left to close out the eight game Peewee A1 placement round, the BWC Bruins are likely to close with an almost perfect record, and clinch first place, unless Langley A1s can upset them Sunday night at BWC.
The Bruins pulled a 3-3 tie out of the fire in their first place game vs NSWC Winterhawks on Oct ,12, scoring the tying goal with just 8 seconds left in the game, after falling behind 3-0 in the second.
Since then they’ve won six straight, outscoring opponents 41-4 in the placement round.
A win with the bonus sportsmanship point vs Langley will place the Bruins a single point ahead of rival (5-0-3) North Shore Winterhawks, at top of the AAA peewee group.
Hot on the heels of the two Winter Club teams are the Vancouver T-Birds, at 4-1-3; just one point behind the Winterhawks at the end of placement.
The three teams have a sizeable lead on the rest of the pack; although gritty fourth place Langley with 12 points, could be 3 points higher but for lack of sportsmanship points.
