January 31, 2013 – The Seattle Junior Midget A1 are the flight 2 champions after racking up 46 points in 18 games. They put up a 10 point buffer between themselves and Seafair Midget A1, who have gone 3w-1L-1T in January, including a 3-1 over Seattle. Despite the gap in the standings, it is clear that either team could win should they run into each other later in the playoffs.
Coquitlam currently sits in 3rd place, but have been sliding as of late. They have posted only one win (1w-3L-1T) in 2013 regular season play. There is room for optimism, though, since that win, a 4-1 victory, came over 2nd place Seafair earlier this week.
Port Coquitlam is the other team in the peloton. They have 32 points with a couple games left to play. They’ve shown mixed results in January, going 3W-2L-0T.
