The Prince George Cougars are coming to the North Shore Winter Club.

As part of their Lower Mainland road trip through Seattle and Vancouver, the Cougars are making a pit stop to prepare on NSWC ice.

The team practices on October 16th from 10am – 11:30am.

Two NSWC alumni play for the team – Jansen Harkins and the recently-acquired Cal Babych, who both played for the Winterhawks throughout minor hockey.

The club’s General Manager is also a familiar face.

“It’s a wonderful chance to get back to the place that started it all,” said Todd Harkins. “I spent many years at the club and hopefully I’ll get to see some of the kids I watched grow into young hockey players.”

For Jansen and Cal, it’s a chance to rekindle the passion they had for the game as kids.

“It’s always great to come home,” said Jansen Harkins. “This is where I grew up, I started playing at the club when I was only a few years old and then all the way through bantam.”

“There were some great battles on this ice,” said Babych. “I might have to drop the mitts with Jansen at practice just to give the crowd a show.”

The Cougars’ practice at NSWC is open to the public.

The team plays the Vancouver Giants on October 18th at 7pm at the Pacific Coliseum.
