Here’s a quick look at the current standings in the Pacific Junior Hockey League, the Lower Mainland based Junior B league that comprises 11 teams, along with an overview of the scoring leaders and top goaltenders.
The league is divided into two conferences, the six team Harold Brittain Conference, and the five team Tom Shaw Conference.
The teams have now played about three-quarters of their 44 regular season games.
In the eastern – Harold Brittain – conference, Ridge Meadows holds a three point lead on Abbotsford, with a 24-11-1 record. Both teams are considerably ahead of third and fourth place Langley and Mission.
In the western – Tom Shaw – conference, Delta continues to rule the roost, having dropped just two regular season games so far this year. With a 32-3-0 record, Delta are 14 points up on second place Richmond. North Vancouver are just two back of Richmond.
In terms of individual leaders, two 19 year olds are leading the league in scoring.
Abbotsford’s Baylee Wright has put up 33G-36A for 69 points in 33 games, while Delta’s Jordan Deyrmenjian is second with 28G-34A, 62 points in 34 games. Six twenty year olds hold the next six spots, while Delta’s Jonathan Rees Jr, is the lone 2000 in the top 10, with 14G-27A, 41 points.
Not surprisingly perhaps, Delta’s Jordy Englesonn at .939 and 16-0-0 and Jordan Naylor at .912 and 16-5-0 are the leading goalies.
North Van’s Alex Forster in in third with .924 and 11-5-0.
Last year Aldergrove won the Harold Brittain (37-7-0-0 OTL), and Delta won the Tom Shaw (31-12-0-1 OTL)
