Match up are set for Tier 1 finals Monday morning at the Richmond Midget Tournament.
Last night Kelowna defeated Prince George 5-1, scoring two goals in the first, and three in the second to shut down the Cougars. Jamie Oliver and Ryan Lawson had a goal and an assistant to lead the Rockets.
In the other semi, Delta Hockey Academy defeated Port Moody Panthers 5-1 to advance to the final against Kelowna. Brendan Guerney and Nolan Gallagher each had a goal and an assist for Delta, while Johnny Evans put up two assists. Nik Rikker scored the lone Panthers goal.
After round robin competition at the Richmond International Midget tournament, Delta Hockey Academy Wild and Kelowna Rockets had posted perfect 5-0 records to clinch top spot in their pools.
The Richmond Blues and Ridge Meadows were at the top of their respective pools with 4-1 records.
In the quarter final round top teams crossed over and played second place teams; Kelowna defeated Penticton Vees T2 7-1; Prince George downed Ridge Meadows 6-2; Port Moody edged Richmond Blues 2-1; and Delta Hockey Academy bettered Mat-su Alaska Eagles 7-4.
