Rink and Delta off to hot start in Bantam Prep

There was plenty of offence to go around on Friday at the Canadian Sport School Hockey League Bantam Prep Division Showcase in Penticton, BC as the Delta Hockey Academy and Rink Hockey Academy were in fine form.

Delta Hockey Academy (8)
Notre Dame Hounds (2)

(8:30am) — Justin Sourdif (Surrey, BC) led the way with three goals and two helpers as the Delta Hockey Academy cruised to an 8-2 win over the Notre Dame Hounds on Friday morning.

Tyler Horstmann (Richmond, BC) and Trevor Thurston (North Delta, BC) each added a goal and assist for Delta (2-0-0), while Ryan Deighton (Surrey, BC) picked up the win in goal.

Stanley Cooley (Regina, SK) and Ethan Ernst (Weyburn, SK) found the back of the net for Notre Dame (0-2-0).



Rink Hockey Academy (14)
Shawnigan Lake School (2)

(11:00am) — Seth Jarvis (Winnipeg, MB) scored four times and added an assist as the Rink Hockey Academy skated to a 14-2 win over Shawnigan Lake School in their CSSHL debut on Friday afternoon.

Ayden Manningway (Peguis, MB) also had a five-point game, scoring once and setting up four others, while Jakob Brook (Roblin, MB) and Carter Loney (Winnipeg, MB) each chipped in with two goals and an assist. Nikulas Jerris (Winnipeg, MB) picked up the win in the Rink (1-0-0) net.

Skyler Cameron (Nanaimo, BC) and Corbin Hanson (Prince George, BC) found the back of the net for Shawnigan (0-1-0).



Yale Hockey Academy (7)
OHA Edmonton (3)

(11:15am) — Ethan Bowen (Chilliwack, BC) and Cameron MacDonald (Surrey, BC) each scored twice as the Yale Hockey Academy used a four-goal third period to skate to a 7-3 win over OHA Edmonton on Friday afternoon.

Aiden De La Gorgendiere (Langley, BC) and Keiton Klein (Bellingham, WA) each chipped in with a goal and assist for Yale (1-1-0), which got 24 saves from netminder Andreai Proctor-Ramirez (Lloydminster, AB).

Cole Dubinsky (Androssan, AB) had a goal and assist for OHA Edmonton (0-1-0), while Dane Holman (Edmonton, AB) and Sean Tschigerl (Whitecourt, AB) added singles.



Delta Hockey Academy (10)
Edge School (1)

(3:00pm) – Brandon Santa Juana (Langley, BC) and Cole Shepard (West Vancouver, BC) each finished with two goals and an assist as the Delta Hockey Academy’s high-octane offence was on display again, this time in a 10-1 win over the Edge School for Athletes.

Tyler Horstmann (Richmond, BC) also had a three-point game for Delta (3-0-0), scoring once and assisting on two others, while John Evans (Surrey, BC) and Gabriel Shipley (Powell River, BC) each finished with three helpers. Dylan Garand (Victoria, BC) stopped 18-of-19 shots fired his way for the win in goal.

Nolan Wutzke (Calgary, AB) found the back of the net for Edge, which got 30 saves from goaltender Garrett Fuller (Airdrie, AB).



Pursuit of Excellence (4)
Notre Dame Hounds (1)

(3:15pm) — Connor McClennon (Wainwright, AB) scored twice and setup another as the Pursuit of Excellence started their season off with a win, skating to a 4-1 victory over the Notre Dame Hounds on Friday afternoon.

Jake Neighbours (Airdrie, AB) added a goal and assist for Pursuit (1-0-0), while Jordan Borysiuk (Mannville, AB) chipped in with a single. Talyn Boyko (Drumheller, AB) made 15 saves for the win in goal.

Ethan Ernst (Weyburn, SK) scored the lone goal of the game for Notre Dame (0-3-0), which got a sensational goaltending performance from Bryan Thomson (Moose Jaw, SK), who made 53 saves in the loss.



Rink Hockey Academy (11)
Okanagan Hockey Academy (0)

(5:30pm) — Seth Jarvis (Winnipeg, MB) scored three times and setup two others as the Rink Hockey Academy continued their hot start to the season with an 11-0 win over the Okanagan Hockey Academy on Friday evening.

The five-point night gives Jarvis 10 points (7-3-10) in just two games. Jakob Brook (Roblin, MB) added two goals and an assist, while Carter Loney (Winnipeg, MB) chipped in with a goal and two helpers. Dante Giannuzzi (Winnipeg, MB) stopped 18 shots he faced in the Rink (2-0-0) crease to earn the win and shutout.

Cameron Connolly (Surrey, BC) made 35 saves in goal for Okanagan (1-1-0).
