Make it 20 wins out of 22 for the Kelowna Rockets after a 6-2 win over Prince George on Saturday extended their winning streak to seven straight.

At 20-1-1-0 through the season’s first two months Kelowna has certainly established itself as the team to beat in the WHL. They’re the No. 2 team on the CHL’s Top 10 rankings behind the OHL’s Erie Otters and are the No. 1 team from the WHL, OHL, and QMJHL according to the metrics used by Yahoo’s Buzzing The Net blog for their Dynamic Dozen rankings.

Rourke Chartier (23-17-40) and Nick Merkley (7-33-40) are tied for the league lead in scoring. Teammates Tyson Baillie (15-11-26) and Madison Bowey (7-19-26) are both in the top 15 and also represented the WHL in this year’s annual Super Series against Team Russia. Goaltender Jackson Whistle is 16-1-1-0 with an impressive .922 save percentage and 2.17 goals-against-average.

The Rockets wrap up their current road trip with games against Victoria on Tuesday and Wednesday. They return home on Friday for a back-to-back with the Portland Winterhawks.
