Royal Pain: Okanagan Rockets Earn All Four Points

February 11, 2013 – The Okanagan Rockets earned a pair of wins on the weekend over the South Island Royals, allowing them to stay three points ahead of the North East Chiefs in the BCMML standings.

The opening win came on Saturday, as the team’s leading goal scorer, Josh Blanchard, netted his 27th goal of the season during the second period. It held up as the game winner in a tightly fought 2-1 contest.

The rematch was not nearly as close, as the Rockets exploded for five first period goals en route to an 8-0 win. Brandon Wagner led the way for the Rockets with two goals and an assists.
