Semiahmoo Ravens win Regina Classic, Jan 2015

The Semiahmoo Peewee A1 Ravens won Hockey Regina’s 23rd Annual Premiere Peewee Classic last weekend with a 3-2 OT victory over the Olds Grizzlies in the gold medal game.

A total of 32 teams competed in the tourney; the Ravens were the only BC team.

The Ravens got to the final with a 7-4 semi final win over Warman Wildcats (Sk), after downing Swift Current 5-0 in the quarter-finals. Both opponents had finished first in their pools, to advance to the A pool playoffs.

The Ravens had finished their three game round robin pool in first place after wins against Regina Mustangs (3-2), Calgary Bow River Bruins (8-1), and the Saskatoon Express (6-2).

Three Ravens were selected to the All-Star teams, D-man Cameron Newson, forward Cameron MacDonald, and goaltender Seth Parmar.

MacDonald was tied with Weyburn’s Eathan Ernst for top goal scorer, with 11.
