FLIGHT 1 – Regular Season Recap

In Flight 1 this season, Semiahmoo almost ran the table, notching 19 wins and a tie over the 20 game regular season. Semi also lost just a single sportsmanship point, to finish two points shy of a perfect record, with 58.

The single tie was a scoreless 0-0 contest in the second last game of the season, vs Burnaby Winter Club A1.

Semi had downed BWC 6-0 in their previous contest on December 15, and 5-1 in the opening game of the regular season back on November 8.

The only other team to give the Ravens a run for their money, were the North Shore Winter Club, losing 6-5 and 5-3.

Semi posted six shutouts over the season, and outscored opponents 165 to 25, for a 140 goal differential.

BWC A1 finished second in the Flight with a 16-3-1 record and also with 19 sportsmanship points, for 52 points.

NSWC A1 had one more win than BWC, with a 17-3-0 record, but posted only 14 sporties, so finished four points back of the Bruins.

Langley A1 finished fourth, 11 points back of NSWC, on a record of 11-8-1.

BWC’s A2 team also played in the top flight, finishing 8th overall, with 6-13-1, but will play Tier 2 in the playoffs, as PCAHA Flights go out the window, and BC Hockey’s Tier structure takes over for the Provincial playoffs. The Tier structure is based mainly on association size, with exceptions for the two Vancouver area Winter Clubs.
