Holiday Tournament Roundup: Winners and Scores

There was plenty of tournament action across the lower mainland over the holiday season. Here is a look at those teams that took home some hardware:


Richmond International Midget Hockey Tournament

Major Midget division – Arizona Bobcats U16AAA defeat (Edmonton) United Cycle Midget AAA by a score of 3-2. At one point in the second period, Arizona led by a score of 3-0. Despite a valiant comeback effort by United Cycle, the Bobcats were able to hold on for the win.

Tier 1 – The Okanagan Jr. Rockets (T1) continued to roll, downing the Delta Hockey Academy Wild 4-1. Read more coverage here.

Tier 2 – The Semiahmoo Ravens A2 got a first period goal from Sean Pennington. It would be all they needed on route to a 1-0 win over the Anaheim Jr. Ducks.

Tier 3- The Kitchener Jr. Rangers got two goals from Alex Giannou, helping them past the San Diego Jr. Gulls by a score of 5-3.


Chilliwack Peewee Jamboree

Surrey Peewee A1 bested their neighbours from Semiahmoo by a score of 7-4 to win the gold.


New Westminster Herb House Tournament

Midget A division – Mission Midget A1 beat Aldergrove 4-3 in the final to take the gold.

Midget C division – Burnaby Winter Club C1 cruises past Burnaby Minor C2 with an 8-2 final score.


Burnaby Bantam Christmas Tournament

The Okanagan Hockey Academy won the 50th edition of the tournament, edging Langley 4-3. We have more coverage here.


Juan de Fuca

Burnaby Winter Club A5 sailed to the Island and stole a gold medal from the tournament hosts. They outlasted JDF, earning a 3-2 win.


Canuck Place Charity Tournament

Peewee C division – The Vancouver Spirit earned top honours, closing out the Surrey SY8 Flyers by a score of 4-2.
