Western Canada Bantam Championship host Kelowna Rockets pulled one out of the fire in the final minute of the game to tie Saskatchewan champion Yorkton Terriers 2-2 Saturday morning.
With a 1:20 to go and the face-off in the Yorkton end, the Terriers called a 30 second time out. The Rockets followed with their own timeout. On the ensuing face-off the puck came back to Rockets point where Jeremy Hite blasted one past a screened Alex Geddes to tie the game at 2.
Five minutes earlier Matt Alcorn had put the Rockets on the scoreboard, on a set up from Hite and Matt Alcorn.
Yorkton had opened the scoring with a goal from Brett Kemp on a play from Derrick Budz and Keenan Serling with a minute 1:15 left in the second, and taken a 2-0 lead about five minutes into the third on a goal from Carson Miller with assists from Carson Welke and McKenzie Welke.
